Unethical organizational behavior, subordinate moral disengagement, subordinate unethical behavior, Governance Achievements Consistency, General manager
AuthorsAbstractGeneral managers (GMs) are very decisive in achieving targets agreed upon by the hotel owner and the GM. To achieve these targets, they resort to any means, including engaging in unethical pro-organizational behavior, resulting in moral detachment and unethical behavior among subordinates. The study involved 384 respondents, managers of three-star hotels in Central Java, Indonesia. The concept of Governance Achievements Consistency was developed in this study as a solution to reduce unethical pro-organizational behavior by GMs and as a control for GM behavior to remain authentically transformational. This study used Partial Least Square (PLS) as a data analysis technique with a Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) approach based on variations or basic structural component models. All results support the proposed hypothesis except the hypothesis of the relationship between unethical subordinate behavior and sustainable achievement.
