Foundation Elects New President
John Siebert has been elected as the new President of the British Dental Health Foundation.
John Siebert, Chairman of George Warman Publications, has become the new President of the British Dental Health Foundation. John replaces outgoing President Daniel Davis and will serve as President for the next two years. John joined the Foundation in March 2002. After serving his tenure as President-Elect, he now takes his position as President in his 10th year with the Foundation. John said: “I am particularly proud to lead the Foundation and I would like to thank outgoing President Daniel Davis who helped to lead the Foundation during very difficult times for charitable organisations. “I believe the Foundation has developed a very strong reputation over the past 40 years. The Trustees and I are looking forward to increasing awareness of the Foundation’s role and activities within the profession and the general public, as well as working successfully with our many partners to help improve the nation’s oral health further.â€

J o h n qualified with a BA (Hons) degree in Russian from Birmingham University and started his career in publishing in 1967. In 1970 he set up his own company launching a number of publications, including The Dentist in 1984. In 1987 John joined Reed Business Publishing Board in 1987, chairing several divisional companies including Reed Information Services and Estates Gazette. He became Deputy CEO in 1991 and then moved to Paris to run the medical publishing side of a large French publisher for Reed Elsevier. Following a career change, John bought George Warman Publications in 1996, publishers of The Dentist, Dental Update and other related titles, and for whom he still chairs. John is the current chairman of the BDTA Marketing Committee and a founder member of the All Party Parliamentary Group for Dentistry. He is also the chairman and presenter for The Farnham and Alton Talking Newspaper which produces four weekly programmes for the visually impaired in South-west Surrey and North-east Hampshire.
